Updated Atlanta hospital c-section rates
These numbers are calculated from information at www.gahospitalpricecheck.org. Unfortunately, they no longer have Northside or Northside Cherokee listed, so those two hospitals’ numbers are through September of 2008.

What about Emory Eastside?

Thanks for posting! It’s interesting about North Fulton’s rate. Although it’s rate is over the recommendation, I know that they are the only local hospital that will perform waterbirths, right? You can see that their rate reflects their promotion for alternatives and choices for moms in labor. I hope other hospitals/doctors will follow the lead!

I’ll calculate Emory Eastside this weekend.
North Fulton and Atlanta Medical Center both offer a waterbirth option. Hopefully Emory Johns Creek will eventually too.
And of course, there’s always homebirth! Just as safe for moms and babies, with cesarean rates closer to 5%.
