If you are even half the Twerd (translation: Twilight nerd) that Laura and I are then you’ve probably seen New Moon. We’ve both seen it twice now – which seems like a reasonable number compared to the number of times we’d both seen Twilight by this time last year. Needless to say we’re both obsessed – in a twelve year old girl kinda way. It’s been a lot of fun!
All in all I was THRILLED with New Moon. I thought the representation of the book – the overall tone and the storyline – were truly, truly amazing. There was also a HUGE improvement in the acting this time around. The chemistry between Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan) and Taylor Lautner (Jacob) is out of this world! Chris Weitz paid attention to details that were ignored in the first movie and it was a real treat to see them – especially the vampires’ colored eyes. The soundtrack is also on par with the first movie in my opinion. The tone is so different because this part of the Twilight story is so difficult. So we lose some of the fun upbeat songs, but gain some really complex, artistic tunes in the process (including music by Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Death Cab for Cutie)
I am such a Twerd that I could go on for days about this movie. I’ll spare you. Just go see it!
