Baby Steps teachers are trained through a certification process involving a workshop, required reading, academic work, and hands-on experience.
Our training is now available online, any time that fits your schedule. If you would prefer an in person option, contact Susie now about setting up a training in your area.
The cost of the training is $500. You will be ready to teach after completing the training, finishing the required reading, and passing the test. You will be certified after you teach your first full class series and submit a self evaluation. CPE is our credential, and it stands for Certified Perinatal Educator.
Here are some details about how being a Baby Steps teacher works:
Your first year of dues is included in the training cost. After that, there are nominal annual teacher dues which include your license to teach the material, access to all the curricula, and free marketing materials. It also includes access to our website, to create your own class listings, and marketing support. You purchase guidebooks or pay per-student fees based on the couples you teach. You will remain certified as long as you pay your dues and complete continuing education. You also have to option to become an inactive teacher for 50% dues and keep your certification. Should you decide to teach that year, you would just pay the difference and be active again.
Our recommended class prices are $325 for Intuitive Birth and $150 for preparing for your birth, so you make back your annual dues in teaching 1 or 2 couples. You are an independent teacher, so you have the right to set your own prices, and you collect your own payment directly.
